YOUTH POLICY
• Children must be age 14 or older to be left alone in the building, unsupervised.
• No children under the age of 14 are permitted in the fitness center at any time.
• Children age 11 – 13 may be in the building unsupervised as long as their parent(s) are in the building at all times.
• Children 10 or under must be supervised at all times in the building.
ABOUT THE WACC
The vision of those who founded the Walker Area Community Center was grounded with dedication and determination. Their vision was big and seemingly unrealistic, but they extended their reach and settled for nothing less than achieving their goals.
Six years after they imagined it, it was built and has become a vibrant, diverse and growing facility that provides adult programs, fitness and sports, youth programming and meeting and gathering spaces. It has become the home of the Leech Lake Youth Hockey Association, WHA Hockey, Walker Curling Club, Walker Rotary, Boys and Girls Club and over 250 members in our fitness center.
The Community Center opened its doors on July 2, 2007 with the major construction being completed in November 2007 this was made possible due to your help and generosity.

PRIVATE PARTIES & SPECIAL EVENTS
Whether you are planning a social event, fund-raiser, holiday party, wedding reception or any other celebration the Walker Area Community Center can accommodate your needs. We offer both traditional and non-traditional sites to host your event.
Choose from the Ringle Library, which is suitable for up to 20 guests and features a fireplace, soft seating and a touch of home or choose the Rotary Room, which is suitable for gatherings up to 250 people. For non-traditional setting, host your event on our multi-sport court, which can be set up to accommodate dinner, dancing and entertainment. Our staff will help you with your food and beverage needs upon request.
CORPORATE EVENTS
Business meetings, sales rallies, trade shows and employee appreciation events area all possible at our versatile facility. We offer wonderful and unique meeting and reception space. Our staff provide a hands on approach to assure that your event successful.
EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION DAYS
Treat your employees and their families to a day of fun. Let us help you design a day of activities for your employees with a slightly competitive edge as they compete as teams or individuals in volleyball, pickle-ball, dodgeball or maybe a puck-shooting contest.
