Strive for your personal best and enjoy the beautiful and rejuvenating Leech Lake area at the Chase the Police Triathlon, hosted by the Walker Area Community Center (WACC) and the Walker Police Dept. The natural setting of the Leech Lake/Northwoods area is perfect for a triathlon. Most of the running and biking portions of the race will take place on the paved Heartland Trail, which runs along lake shores and through National Forest lands. This is a SPRINT triathlon with course lengths of: .25 mile swim, 17 mile bike, 2.8 mile run. More course description on the maps page. DOWNLOAD OUR BROCHURE

The course starts in the charming Walker City Park, where police, EMS, and military personnel will start the race by chasing the ceremonial doughnut into Leech Lake. Once the police and EMS personnel are on their way with their “head start,” the racers will then start the race and “chase” the police, attempting to catch up to them and finish the race before them. There are many ways for you to participate in this fun and inspiring event! Sponsors, volunteers, racers (police chasers) and spectators are on the police’s “Most Wanted” list. Our dedicated committee, sponsors, and volunteers have worked hard to create an atmosphere that will be enjoyable for you and the whole family.
